Temple in honor of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in the village of Chany

The Temple in honor of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in the worker's settlement of Chany was registered on November 23, 1999. It belongs to the Diocese of Cain of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate).

On the night of July 9-10, 2008, a fire broke out in the temple. The roof and all the interior burned down. Nowadays the temple is fully restored. There is a Sunday school for children and adults. Patronal feast, i.e. the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, is celebrated on October 14.

The temple is proud of its shrines: the Icon with the particle of the relics of St. Luke of Crimea, the wooden cross with the relics of the Holy Martyr Elizabeth and nun Barbara and the Icon of the Blessed Matron of Moscow with the particle of her coffin.

How to get there: the distance from the city of Novosibirsk to the worker's settlement of Chany is 420 km by car. One can get from the railway station "Novosibirsk-Main" (43 Dmitriya Shamshurina str. of the city of Novosibirsk) to the railway station Chany by train on the routes "Novosibirsk-Kulunda", "Novosibirsk-Omsk", "Novosibirsk-Novy Urengoy". One can get from the Novosibirsk bus station (4 Krasny avenue) to the w.s. of Chany by bus on the route "Novosibirsk-Ust-Tarka".
