Temple in honor of the Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God "Zhivonosnyy istochnik"

In 1999, orthodox residents of the Lozhok microdistrict of the city of Iskitim, Novosibirsk region, applied to the Novosibirsk Diocese for a blessing to establish a parish.
 
In April 2002, the territorial administration of the city of Iskitim donated the building in 12 Tsentralnaya street for the construction of a temple for church services, Sunday school, and library.
 
Every year, on Friday of Easter Week, the Holy Church performs observance to the Icon of the Mother of God, called the "Zhivonosnyy istochnik". The appearance of this image is associated with a miraculous event, i.e. the healing of the blind man by the Mother of God, which occurred in the middle of the V century at a source near the city of Constantinople.
 
The parish was named in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God  "Zhivonosnyy istochnik" for good reason. The Holy spring, located near the station and the micro-district "Lozhok" is well-known to faithful people both in the Novosibirsk region and abroad. There was the camp of a particularly strict regime here in the territory of the present district of Lozhok from 1929 to 1956. According to eyewitnesses, it was the most terrible "unbearable camp", known for its inhumanity to prisoners of the Union. Political prisoners were placed in the special area of the camp together with criminals and penal offenders serving long terms for very serious crimes. These people were innocent and then they were rehabilitated. Many of them suffered for their faith.

The healing source, i.e. the Holy spring-well, occurred on the outskirts of the microdistrict as an intangible monument to all the innocent victims. For more than a dozen years, orthodox Christians have been making pilgrimages to the Holy spring-well to pray to the Holy New Martyrs and receive healing from their mental and bodily ailments.
 
Bishop Tikhon, Archbishop of the city of Novosibirsk and the city of Berdsk (now Metropolitan of the city of Novosibirsk and the city of Berdsk), made a rite of blessing the water and lesser blessing of the temple on May 2, 2003, on the on the feast day of the parish, on the Day of the Mother of God "Life-giving Spring". Then, there was a procession around the new Temple.

One can get from the Novosibirsk bus station (4 Krasny avenue) to the city of Iskitim by buses on the routes "Novosibirsk-Maslyanino", "Novosibirsk-Barnaul", "Novosibirsk-Belokurikha", "Novosibirsk-Gorno-Altaysk", "Novosibirsk-Suzun", "Novosibirsk-Biysk", "Novosibirsk-Rubtsovsk", "Novosibirsk-Zarinsk", "Novosibirsk-Chemal", "Tomsk-Belokurikha", "Yurga-Belokurikha".
 
Work pattern: daily from 09:00 till 17:00 without lunch
Church services are held on Sundays and during public holidays. Evening church service at 16:00. Liturgy at 9:00.
