Temple in the name of the St. Elijah the Prophet

Within two years the new temple complex appeared in the center of the city of Kargat: with lower and upper hall, household rooms, Sunday school, monastery canteen. The idea and financial costs for the construction of the temple belong to a native of the city of Kargat, patron Vladimir Mikhailovich Konozakov. The construction of the temple began in May 2010. The design solution was provided by the Novosibirsk Architectural Bureau of Nikolai Deev. The painting is dominated by blue color, i.e. the color of the Mother of God. All works are done manually. The temple was consecrated on January 27, 2013.
 
The Temple in the name of the Holy Prophet Elijah is lined with Dutch bond, it has 3 domes. The finish is made of natural stone (granite, marble). The walls are decorated with art paintings. The bell tower has 9 bells. There is a room for mother and child. The entrances to the territory, the administrative building and the temple are decorated with 11 mosaic icons, the largest has a height of 4.3 m. Tourists from different parts of the country come to visit the temple.

On February 17, 2016, with the blessing of Metropolitan Tikhon of the city of Novosibirsk and the city of Berdsk, the Holy, i.e. slipper of St. Spyridon of Trimythous arrived in the city of Kargat from the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of Novosibirsk. This shrine was in the temple in the name of the Holy Prophet Elijah all day long. Hundreds of people touched the shrine and not only from the Kargatsky district, but also from the neighboring Chulymsky and Ubinsky districts.

How to get there: the distance from the city of Novosibirsk to the city of Kargat is 180 km by car. One can get from the railway station "Novosibirsk-Main" (43 Dmitriya Shamshurina str.) to the city of Kargat by commuter train. One can also get from the Novosibirsk bus station (4 Krasny avenue) to the city of Kargat by bus on the routes "Novosibirsk–Severnoye", "Novosibirsk-Dovolnoye", "Novosibirsk-Ust-Tarka".

Work pattern: daily from 9:00 till 17:00
