Museum of History and Industry "Tolchelnya"
The Historical-and-Industrial Museum "Tolchelnya" was opened in December 2014. The museum is located in the reconstructed building of the middle of the XIX century, which is part of the smelter, where there was a water-acting crush, i.e. the device for grinding of coal, ore or limestone. The smelter itself was a production workshop, which housed furnaces of different types. The throng was built in 1765, and in the period from 1830 till 1848 it was rebuilt in connection with a fire. In the period from 2013 till 2014, the building underwent repair and restoration works and, as a result, its museumification.
The exposition of the Historical-and-Industrial Museum "Tolchelnya" presents items of copper-smelting and coin production. The rare exhibits here include the following ones: ladle for pouring into molds of non-ferrous metals by hand, mold for stamping of ladles, bath for pouring of molten copper and silver. The items of the iron factory are not less important as well. The church bell from the first Suzun temple, presented in the exhibition, proves that the factory also poured bells.
The breadboard of universal furnace "air-blast reverberatory furnace", made in natural size, is located in the museum. It allows visualizing of the subtleties of melting production.
