Museum of the History of the city of Kargat

The Museum of History of the city of Kargat is located in the building of the architectural monument "Water tower with chimney".

Since the 1890s the settlement of Kargat developed as a railway station serving the Trans-Siberian railway. The station was opened in 1896.

In 1912, a pumping station was built in the city of Kargat, inside which the museum was inaugurated in 2011, telling about the history of the railway and the city of Kargat.

The main fund consists of 452 items, scientific-and-auxiliary fund consists of 270 items. The uniqueness of the museum is that it has a layout of the city, which is compiled from the stories of old residents. The layout includes the former Mirgorodskaya church, the house of merchant of Mariupol, tanneries and horse factories and other attractions of the city of Kargat of the early XX century.
 
The museum holds the following actions: "St. George ribbon", "Field letter"; the following class hours: "We treasure the memory", "Battle of Stalingrad", "Rituals, traditions of Siberia", "Monuments of nature and man", "Fates, scorched by war - the river of time flows", "Ecological hour". The plan for field trips around the city of Kargat "How it all began" was developed.

How to get there: the distance from the city of Novosibirsk to the city of Kargat is 180 km by car.
