Bolotninsky District Museum of Local History

The Bolotninsky District Museum of Local History opened its doors to the first visitors in two halls of the District House of Culture on February 22, 1981.

In 2008, the museum moved to a separate building. Its expositions and exhibitions are located in 3 halls such as: Hall of Nature, Hall of Antiquity and Hall of the Modern Period.

The Hall of Nature presents an exposition "Fauna and flora of Bolotninsky district", which presents stuffed animals and birds living in the local forests and reservoirs.
The Hall of Antiquity reflects the life of residents of Bolotninsky district of the late XIX-early XX centuries. There are the following expositions in this hall: "The house of my ancestors", "How the shirt grew in the field." The next exhibition introduces visitors to the development of pottery in the area, as well as to various tools that were once used in the construction of houses and boats. There is the exhibition "The history of orthodoxy in Bolotninskiy district", which displays icons and books, there in the same hall.

The third hall shows the development of the Bolotninskiy district since the Soviet period to the present time. Particular attention is paid to the participation of the residents of Bolotninskiy district in the Great Patriotic War.

Currently, the funds of the museum have more than 6 thousand copies of the main and auxiliary funds.
In 2016 the Bolotninskiy District Museum of Local History celebrated its 35th anniversary.

How to get there: the distance from the city of Novosibirsk to the city of Bolotnoye is 130 km by car.
One can get from the Novosibirsk bus station (43a Dmitriya Shamshurina ul.) to the city of Bolotnoye by bus on the routes "Novosibirsk–Yurga", "Gorno-Altaysk-Tomsk", "Barnaul-Tomsk", "Belokurikha-Yurga", "Yarovoye-Tomsk".
Besides, one can get to the railway station "Bolotnaya" by electric train on the route "Novosibirsk-Main-Bolotnaya".
