The nature reserve “Mayskoe utro” (means May Morning)
The state biological reserve “May morning” got its beautiful name after the Lake May morning located on its territory. This is a protected natural area of 28.8 thousand hectares. The reserve was founded in 1995.
On the territory of the reserve there are the main migration routes of many bird species, including transcontinental routes. This is the uniqueness and ecological significance of the reserve. Most of the area (87%) is occupied by farmland. In the reserve there are also forest-steppe areas, and vast expanses of steppe, and wetlands. Forest-steppe lands are represented by the typical Barabinsk forest-steppe. Birch forests - the most visible element of the landscape. There are moose, roe deer, hare, forest birds are living here. The main reservoir of the reserve is Lake Malye Chany, which has fishing importance.
The vegetation of the territory is a model for the forest-steppe landscapes of Baraba. Some plants, for example, water plants Nayada large and Nayada marine, are listed in the Red Book of the Novosibirsk region.
There are the number of rare or listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation and the Novosibirsk Region animals. A lot of birds are listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation. Savka and Asian godwit are included to the International Red Book.
In the nature reserve hunting for all kinds of animals, collecting of medicinal and rare plant species are forbidden. It is allowed to fish after days of rest in places limited by the directorate of the reserve, picking mushrooms and berries, arrangement of tourist camps.

How to get there: the distance between Kupino to the nature reserve “Mayskoe utro” is 53 km by car, the distance between Novosibirsk and the reserve is 440km by car. There is the scheduled bus from the Novosibirsk Bus Terminal to Kupino village. As well from Novosibirsk-Glavny Train Station to Kupino village there is train. Between Kupino and Novokluchi village goes the scheduled bus.
