Natural monument “Pokrovsky forest-steppe”
The natural monument “Pokrovskaya forest-steppe” was founded on January 24, 2007. The total area is 4740 hectares.
The significance of the natural monument: it represents a unique combination of forest-steppe, meadow and lake-marsh complexes of fauna and flora.
The main object of protection is 21 species of plants and animals included in the Red Books of the Novosibirsk Region and the Russian Federation.
84 species of plants have been identified, including Red Book species: the Zaversky feather grass, feather grass, potash stalk, the comber loose.
The natural monument has variety of the animals. Here, 118 species of birds, 30 species of mammals, 4 species of amphibians, 3 species of reptiles have been recorded. The main objects of protection are:
• the following species of birds: mute swan, steppe eagle, white-tailed eagle, large spotted eagle, owl white, small whitefly, white-winged lark, nightingale;
• 3 types of insects: bumble beet-toothed and Baikal and Pigeon Arion (butterfly).
The following activities are allowed: excursions without damage to natural complexes, berry gathering, amateur and sport fishing. Any economic activities, including collection of plants and mushrooms, as well as the arrangement of halts, tourist camps are prohibited.
Location: south-west part of Dovolensky district of the Novosibirsk region, 4 km away from Sogornoe village and 3 km away from Pokrovka village, on the territory of Sogornsky settlement
How to get there: the distance between Dovolnoe village and natural monument “Pokrovsky forest-steppe” is 28 km by car, from Novosibirsk to the natural monument – 308 km by car. You can take a bus from Novosibirsk Bus Terminal to Dovolnoe village. From Dovolnoe village to Pokrovka village you also can take a bus. And from Pokrovka village to the natural monument you can get by car or hitchhiking.
