City Public Museum of Radiation Disasters
The City Public Museum for Radiation Disasters, created by the Fund for assistance to disabled people of radiation disasters, was opened on March 12, 2003. Museum expositions are located шn the area of 131,4 sq.m.
Visual materials about radiation accidents and catastrophes, nuclear weapons tests are placed in showcases and stands, as well as on individual posters, photographs, paintings, and models.
Visitors can get acquainted with various devices of radiation-and-chemical and dosimetric control, personal protective equipment donated to the museum by the labor collective of the chemical concentrates plant. Personal documents of Novosibirsk liquidators are widely presented. They include the following items: gate passes to Chernobyl zones, cards of accounting of doses of irradiation, certificates, certificates of honor and gratitude, verification documents, articles. The showcase for Chernobyl badges, signs, medals of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Union "Chernobyl" of Russia is set apart.
The memos and posters about the rules of conduct and protection in case of natural disasters, man-made accidents and catastrophes are placed on the stands.
Guests of the museum are invited to get acquainted with the materials dedicated to the enterprises of the nuclear industry of the city of Novosibirsk, their leaders, who provide support in the modernization of expositions.
Visitors will see documents, printed publications, souvenirs, models, indicating that the feat of the heroes of Chernobyl is not forgotten.
The exposition materials located in the City Public Museum of Radiation Catastrophes remind how carefully and responsibly it is necessary to treat our planet, how professionally it is necessary to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and to do everything in order to live in a world without nuclear catastrophes.
