Monument to the Span of the First Railway Bridge over the Ob river
The first railway bridge via the Ob river was built in 1893-1896. On July 20, 1893, the first stone was laid in its construction. The engineer - Nikolai Anfimov Beleliubskii. On March 31, 1897, the grand opening of the bridge took place, and traffic on it became available.
The bridge had 9 spans, they were put on stone supports made of granite, laid on the granite channel. The bridge was one of the largest and the first in Russia, the spans of which were covered by metal structures of cantilever-beam type.
In the 1990s, the bridge was dismantled, and one of its spans, which is installed on the quay of the Ob river, was preserved as the monument to the first railway bridge. This is one of the most unusual monuments in Russia.
