Museum of History of the Cossack Cadet Corps and Local History
The Museum of the History of the Cossack Cadet Corps and Local History was founded by the pedagogical staff of the Cossack Cadet Corps named after the Hero of the Russian Federation Oleg Kuianov in 2001. The exhibition area is 50 sq.m.
The main sections of the museum exposition include the following ones:
- "The Feat of the Hero of Russia Oleg Kuianov";
- "History of formation of the Siberian divisions in the territory of the city of Berdsk";
- "The work of the search group of the Cossack Cadet Corps";
- "Siberian antiquity";
- "History of the Siberian Cossacks".
The unique part of the fund is a weapon of the First World War, orders and medals of the Great Patriotic War, non-canonical icons of Siberian immigrants of the early XX century, fragments of Cossack weapons of the XVIII-XIX centuries, Cossack saddles.
The Cossack Cadet Corps has been named after the Hero of Russia Oleg Kuianov, the graduate of 1987, since 2005. Oleg Viktorovich Kuianov was the warrant officer of the Berdsk brigade of special purpose, sniper, commander of the reconnaissance group, was 3 times sent to Chechnya. At the end of 1999 his last mission took place, from which he never returned. The mass media wrote about the feat of Oleg Viktorovich. The museum houses his diploma, certificates of achievement and awards, photos and personal belongings of the Hero.
The Museum of the History of the Cossack Cadet Corps and Local History introduces guests to the insufficiently studied pages of the history of the Cossacks, the exploits of the Cossacks in the name of serving the Fatherland, their customs and way of life. Stands with paraphernalia, edged weapons, fragments of ancient weapons of Siberian Cossacks and much more are of interest to visitors.
Since 2005, cadets participate in the search expedition of the city organization of the military-and-patriotic club "Condor". They took part in 10 expeditions on raise and reburial of the remains of soldiers in the city of Bely of the Tver region. Over the years, 306 of the remains of the fighters were risen. 35 medallions were found, thanks to which the relatives of some of the victims, including Berdsk citizens, were found. The whole exposition of the museum is devoted to those tragic events in the history of the country. Most of the exhibits were found by cadets. The museum presents original documents, letters from the front, helmets of Soviet soldiers, as well as German and Finnish soldiers, shell casings, parts of German and Soviet weapons and many other exhibits.

How to get there: the distance from the city of Novosibirsk to the city of Berdsk is 38 km by car. One can get to the city of Berdsk by electric train on the routes "Novosibirsk-Main-Berdsk", "Novosibirsk-Main-Iskitim", "Novosibirsk-Main-Cherepanovo", "Novosibirsk-Main-Dorogino", "Novosibirsk-Main-Lozhok". Besides, there is route taxi No. 332 from the public transport stop "River-port" to the city of Berdsk (stop "Station"). Then, 600 m from the stop "Station" in the city of Berdsk to the public transport stop "Radio Manufacturing Plant" on foot and by bus No. 5 or route taxis No. 18 or No. 15 to the stop "Green Grove" (the city of Berdsk). The State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Novosibirsk region "Cossack Cadet Corps named after the Hero of the Russian Federation Oleg Kuianov" is 200 m from it.
