State natural reserve of the federal level “Kirzinsky”
The state natural reserve of the federal level “Kirzinsky” was opened on April 11, 1958. The total area is 119 808 hectares.
The reserve provides protection and original appearance of reservoirs, reproduction of rare, endangered and hunting species of animals, protection of places of waterfowl and swamp living and its migration routes, and preservation of a typical forest-steppe landscape.
There is big collection of rare species of plants on the territory of the reserve. The reserve has valuable commercial animals such as elk, roe deer, fox, corsac, hare, badger, ermine, muskrat, lynx. Here there are places of mass nesting of waterfowl and waterbirds: black grouse, gray and white partridge, geese - white-fronted, bean. Rarer species of birds are distributed: white-tailed eagle, osprey, avocet, dowel, black-headed cheerleader.
Commercial, sport and amateur hunting are prohibited on the territory of “Kirzinsky”, sports and amateur fishing are prohibited.
Location: the Novosibirsk region, Barabinsky and Chanovsky districts, in the middle part of Barabinsky forest-steppe
How to get there: the distance between Barabinsk and “Kirzinsky” reserve is 40 km by car, from Novosibirsk to “Kirzinsky” reserve – 360 km by car.
You can take a train from Novosibirsk-Glavny Railway Station to Barabinsk. There is the scheduled bus from Novosibirsk Bus Terminal to Barabinsk. From Barabinsk to “Kirzinsky” reserve you can get by hitchhiking.
