PERVOMAYSKY SQUARE
Pervomaysky Square was opened in 1932. Before the revolution of 1917 here was the huge bazaar (market).
There are two fountains in Pervomaysky Square: the main one is one of the first fountains of the city - next to Krasny prospect and the small one, "children's" one, with a bear, in the middle of the park.
On the territory of the Square there are the works of the participants of the annual festival of stone sculptures, held in Novosibirsk - marble sculptures named "Love", "World", "King and Queen" and others. In winter the Siberian snow sculpture festival is held in the square - an international contest of professional sculptors and artists from many cities of Russia, near and far abroad countries come here to take part in it. Next to the Square there is an architectural monument - the building of the City Mall, where now the Museum of Local History is located.
