Lake Karachi

In the Chanovsky district of the Novosibirsk region there is mud and balneological health resort “Lake Karachi” next to the lake of the same name. The Karachi Lake gave life to the resort. The main natural healing factors are mud and brine of bitter-salty lake. The entire reservoir is filled with brine, which contains various salts in amount of 50 to 250 grams per liter. The water keeps people afloat. Throughout the bottom of the lake, at a depth of 40-60 cm there is therapeutic mud. We can say that it is inexhaustible.

For drinking treatment chloride-hydrocarbonate sodium water is also used, it is from wells with the depth of about 1000 m (as well it is bottled under the name “Karachinskaya”).

In 2014-2015 years the camping area was equipped on the eastern side of the lake. There are shower cabins, toilets and retail outlets. In May 2015 pine and birch were planted. The shore of the beach is sprinkled with white sand.

Location: the Novosibirsk region, Chanovsky district, health resort “Lake Karachi”

How to get there: the distance between settlement Chany to Lake Chany is 17 km by car, from Novosibirsk to the lake – 430 km by car.
