Museum of the Oktyabrsky district of the city of Novosibirsk
The Museum of the Oktyabrsky district was opened in 1988. Its fund is 1,500 units of storage.
Museum funds are a collection of objects of material and spiritual culture of Zakamensky (Oktyabrsky) district. These are household items, photos, letters, books and much more.
Permanent exhibition is "Images of old Zakamenka". Temporary exposures are updated every 2-3 months.
The museum staff organizes exhibition and excursion projects on the history and culture of the city residents, conduct sightseeing and thematic tours, revealing the famous and unfamiliar pages in the life of the Zakamensky historical part of the city of Novosibirsk and the city as a whole. Permanent street walking tours of the museum such as "Journey to Zakamenka or return to the USSR" and "Three ages of Pimenova square".
The museum conducts comprehensive practical courses with students of universities and schools of the city on guided tours and museum pedagogy, visiting lecture-and-excursion events focused on the implementation of creative potential and the acquisition of practical skills.
Complementary services include the following ones: video presentations, provision of premises for a photo shoot upon prior application.
Excursions are offered to groups from 7 up to 30 people. Organized groups are accepted upon preliminary applications. Field events include the following items: lectures for schoolchildren, students, walking tours, the action "Night of museums".
It is a branch of The Museum of Novosibirsk.
