Museum of the Dzerzhinsky district of the city of Novosibirsk

The Museum of Dzerzhinsky district of the city of Novosibirsk was opened on October 1, 2008.

Areas of activity of the museum:
- collection and storage of exhibits, their scientific processing;
- conducting of excursions and events of civil-and-patriotic direction for schoolchildren, students and residents of the district;
- work with young people: - excursions, lessons of civics, student practices, archaeological excavations, Youth Council of Dzerzhinsky district;
- work with public veteran organizations;
- work with veterans, old residents of the district: projects "Video recordings" and "Audiotapes" of Dzerzhinsky district in the stories of the residents.

The museum has 6 permanent exhibitions with excursions on the following themes: "History of Dzerzhinsky district", "Silver wings district", "Defense shield of the country", "Man and war - heroes lived and live next to us", "Loyalty to traditions", "Urban interior of the 50s". The lessons of civics are held within the framework of the temporary exhibitions "History of the district scale", "As long as you remember – we are alive". The project "Heroes of the XX century" (video-chronicles and audio tapes of Dzerzhinsky district) includes stories of veterans of labor and the Great World War II, residents of the district and participants of local wars. The students of the Institute for History, Humanities and Social Education of the Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University (IHHSE NSPU) take part in decoding of the records.

Residents of the district actively help the museum staff in gathering of collections. Currently, the museum fund has about 4,000 exhibits.

It is a branch of The Museum of Novosibirsk.
