The Museum of Novosibirsk
The Museum named after Iu.V. Kondratiuk was established in 1993 in the house No. 24 in the Sovetskaya str. The genius who glorified not only his name but also the city of Novosibirsk worked here at the unassertive building of the office "Khlebprodukt" for 3 years. The Museum is named after the scientist, one of the founders of Russian cosmonautics.
The main fund of the museum of the city of Novosibirsk has 278 storage units and more than 6,500 scientific-and-auxiliary units. These are unique documents and exhibits, an extensive video library, a significant library fund.
The first hall of the museum is dedicated to the amazing fate of Iurii Vasilevich Kondratiuk (real name Aleksandr Ignatevich Shargei), his creative heritage. The exhibition presents historical photographs and models of great building structures erected due to the projects of Iu.V. Kondratiuk, as well as photographs and models demonstrating the implementation of his cosmic ideas.
The exposition of the second hall ("Space exploration and the capital of Siberia") presents a model of the first artificial Earth satellite, equipment, samples of food and hygiene products of Russian cosmonauts, collection of space clothes, the real cosmonaut's chair with a couch and much more.
The Museum named after Iu.V. Kondratiuk conducts a lot of educational work. These are visiting exhibitions and video screenings, creative and intellectual competitions, educational programs on cosmonautics for children of different ages.
Since 1994, the museum has been holding the International art competition for children and youth "Space and Me".
In addition to excursions on the expositions of the museum, the staff provides sightseeing tours of the city of Novosibirsk.
