Памятник М.И. Глинке
Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka (May 20 (June 1), 1804, the village of Novospasskoye, Smolensk province – February 3 (15), 1857, the city of Berlin, buried in the city of Saint-Petersburg) was the Russian composer. Works of Glinka influenced the greatest Russian composers A.S. Dargomyzhskii, M.P. Musorgskii, N.A. Rimskii-Korsakov, A.P. Borodin, P.I. Tchaikovskii and others.
Monument in honor of M.I. Glinka was opened on September 12, 1998. Sculptor - V.P. Grachev, artist-architect - O.D. Drozdetskii. There are two small steles with images of the characters of his operas "Life for the Tsar" and " Ruslan and Lyudmila" next to the figure of Glinka: Ivan Susanin, Antonida, Chernomor and Ruslan. In 2007, in connection with the anniversary of the Novosibirsk State Conservatory, the monument was completely reconstructed.
The famous composer is depicted sitting on the bench, and many residents of the city of Novosibirsk and guests of the city want to sit down next to him and take a photo as a souvenir.
