Памятник Владимиру Ильичу Ленину на площади Ленина Новосибирска
On the 53rd anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution and the 100th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin on November 5, 1970 the monument to the leader of the world proletariat on the square of his name was opened in the city of Novosibirsk.
The multi-figured bronze composition of the monument gave the square a certain completeness. The authors of the ensemble are sculptor I.F. Brodskii, Moscow architect I.G. Pokrovskii, Novosibirsk architects S.P. Skoblikov and G.N. Burkhanov. The height is 6.5 m.
To the right of the monument to V.I. Lenin there are three figures, i.e. a worker, a soldier, and a peasant, symbolizing the driving forces of the revolution. There are the figures of a young man with torchlight and a girl carrying spikes on the left side. They reflect the continuity of generations. The composition is recognized as a monument of monumental art of federal importance.
Rallies and actions are held at the monument. It is also a popular meeting place.
