Новосибирский областной Российско-Немецкий Дом
The Novosibirsk Regional Russian-and-German House (NR RGH) is the cultural institution where Russian Germans and everyone who cares about the culture of German-speaking countries gather. They learn the language, sing, dance, cook traditional German dishes and communicate with each other.
In December 1989, the Regional Center for German Culture was established in the city of Novosibirsk. In March 1995, by order of the Head of the Administration, it was transformed into the Russian-German House. The institution moved into its own new building in November 1997.
The mission of Novosibirsk Regional Russian-and-German House lies in the following:
- revival, preservation and development of culture, language, traditions and customs of Russian Germans;
- development of inter-regional, international and inter-ethnic cooperation.
Currently, 35 German Culture Centers in 21 districts of the Novosibirsk region and the city of Novosibirsk operate in the structure of the Novosibirsk Regional Russian-and-German House.
There are all kinds of club associations and circles at the Russian-German House. Holidays are organized and held in accordance with German traditions (Christmas, Easter, Harvest Festival, "Oktoberfest" and many others). The following project are widely known: International Youth Festival "Oktoberfest", Choral Festival "From heart to heart", Children's German Theater Festival, Regional Competition of Masters of the German language, International Christmas Market and many others.
The creative teams of the Russian-and-German House are laureates and diplomats of international competitions. They include the following events: the accordion quartet "Edelweiss", the vocal-and-instrumental ensemble "Gute Laune", as well as participants in interregional and international projects – the folk ensemble of Russian Germans "Begeisterung" and the youth choreographic ensemble "Expression".
The German School for Culture of the Novosibirsk Regional Russian-and-German House provides an opportunity to receive additional education. Children and adults learn languages, music, choreography, theater art, pictorial art and arts and crafts here.
The library fund of Novosibirsk Regional Russian-and-German House has a collection of 12,000 books, most of which are in German. The Museum for History and Ethnography of Russian Germans of the Novosibirsk Regional Russian-and-German House has collected several thousand exhibits and archival documents.
Exhibition hall of Novosibirsk Regional Russian-and-German House is known among Siberian artists, a new exhibition opens here every month.
The newspaper of the Russian Germans of Siberia "Sibirische Zeitung plus" has been published twice a month on the regular basis since 1998.
In addition, Novosibirsk Regional Russian-and-German House cooperates with all public organizations of Russian Germans and ethnic organizations of the Novosibirsk region. Delegations from German-speaking countries often come to the institution.
