Ivan Andreevich Krylov (February 2 (13), 1769, the city of Moscow - November 9 (21), 1844, the city of Saint-Petersburg) was the Russian publicist, poet, fabulist, publisher of satirical-and-educational magazines. He is best known as the author of 236 fables.

The Russian classic had never been to the city of Novosibirsk, the city appeared after the writer's death. But there are admirers of his work in the city on the Ob.

Bust of I.A. Krylov was installed in October 2010. Sculptor - Aleksandr Bortnik. The monument is embodied of cast iron in the city of Saint-Petersburg.
