The Great Hall of the House of Scientists of the Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences was opened in 1968. This was the milestone event in the scientific and cultural life of Akademgorodok. Since then, the House of Scientists has become its full-fledged cultural center.

It has been hosting General meetings of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, major international scientific conferences and symposiums, large-scale events at the internal, regional, city and district levels, public meetings with heads of state, with authoritative political and public figures, and Nobel prize laureates for several years already.

Theater, philharmonic and pop groups of Russia, as well as near and far abroad, representatives of the world show business and opera scene, instrumentalists perform in the Great hall.

The hall with a capacity of 1,000 people includes the following items: spacious, deep stage with turntable and orchestra pit, row of dressing rooms, foyer with stained glass window-walls and elements of winter garden. Guests are invited to visit the buffet.

After the major renovation in 2006, the design of the spectator part of the Great hall was changed, and it was also equipped with modern lighting and sound equipment. The hall is computerized. Its technical potential opens up wide opportunities for the implementation of dynamic staging solutions, all kinds of sound and video effects. At the same time, the acoustics of the hall allows holding of acoustic concerts here without any significant losses.

How to get there: you can get to Akademgorodok (to the railway station "Obskoe More") by electric train along the routes "Novosibirsk-Glavny – Cherepanovo", "Novosibirsk-Glavny – Iskitim", "Novosibirsk-Glavny – Dorogino", "Novosibirsk-Glavny – Berdsk". Then, from the railway station "Obskoye More" to the House of Scientists you can go on foot (2,3 km). Also from the River Station to the House of Scientists there is a route taxi № 35 (1235) and a bus № 8.
