THE CHILDREN'S RAILROAD

In 2003, by the task of the West-Siberian Railway, the projection of the children's railroad has been started. The modern children's railway united the functions of a real railway enterprise, an educational institution for professional training and the school of additional education for children. Opened in June 2005 in Novosibirsk, the Children's Railroad is the twenty-third “small railway” in Russia.

The road runs along the outskirts of the Zaeltsovsky Park on the existing fire-prevention glades, as well as on the territory of the zoo. The length of the children's railroad is 5.3 km. On the railway line there are stations: “Zaeltsovsky Park”, “Lokomotiv”, “Sportivnaya”, “Eltsovsky”, “Zoo” station.The feature of this railroad is that children work here. To be more exactly - teenagers, high school students, who are studying in the railway training center. Here, children get skills of: assistant locomotive driver, track mechanic, conductor, car inspector and others.

How to get there: you can get from the public transport stop "Krasniy prospect" to the stop "PKiO Zaeltsovsky" by bus No. 95 (1095). The Children's Railroad is within walking distance from the stop "PKiO "Zaeltsovsky".
