Temple in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow"
The community of believers created the city of Barabinsk in 1978, a house of worship built in the 1980s on January 10, 1998, Metropolitan Gedeon consecrated the temple in honor of Protection of the Mother of God. Much effort was made by the head of the church Ivan Molchanov, who found local artists to paint the new temple. Believers made an iconostasis, throne and altar. The newly opened temple became the center of orthodox life for all the surrounding areas, since at that time there were almost no temples in the range from the city of Novosibirsk to the city of Omsk. The Rector Archpriest Sergei Gosudarkin carried out extensive missionary activity in other areas of the Novosibirsk region.
The building of the brick one-domed Temple of the Sorrowful in the spirit of buildings of the Russian-Byzantine style with a bell tower was launched in the early 2000s. in the center of the city of Barabinsk.
The temple hosts a service during the patronal feast of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of all Who Sorrow" on November 6.
