Museum of the Zheleznodorozhny district of the city of Novosibirsk
The Museum of History and Development of the Zheleznodorozhny district was founded on January 1, 2005. The staff of the museum collected a lot of exhibits thanks to veterans of the Great Patriotic War of the district in four months. The museum was opened on May 4, 2005, with an exhibition dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, located in two halls of the museum.
The 70th anniversary of the Zheleznodorozhny district in September 2006 in the great hall was opened by the permanent exhibition "The History of the district from 1893 to 1940", which is constantly updated with new interesting exhibits (materials and household items of our ancestors).
There are the following activities of the institution:
- excursions in the museum;
- meetings with veterans of the Second World War and labor, old residents of the district;
- collection of museum objects to perform a variety of exhibitions;
- educational work on the history of the origin and development of the district for school students and youth of the district.
The staff of the museum carries out the project "Journey through the streets of the Zheleznodorozhny district", which presents information about the history of buildings located in the streets of the district, about the fate of those who lived and worked in them. These materials are made in the form of presentations and are used in visiting lectures in various institutions.
The museum accepts applications from residents of the Zheleznodorozhny district for the organization of the author's exhibitions and concerts with their own instruments.
It is a branch of The Museum of Novosibirsk.
