“RED TORCH” NOVOSIBIRSK DRAMA THEATER
"Red torch" was created in 1920 in the city of Odessa by the group of young actors headed by Director Vladimir Tatishchev. The theater was mobile for eleven years, and since 1932 it has been located in the city of Novosibirsk. The building, in which the theater is located, was designed by Andrei Kriachkov in 1911. During the war, the modern Alexandrinsky theater (at that time - the Leningrad Academic Theater named after Pushkin) was evacuated to the theater building.
In 2001 "Red torch" organized the largest theatrical forum beyond the Urals, i.e. the festival-competition "Siberian transit". From 2004 to 2008, the large reconstruction of the theater building (the Monument of Architecture of the city of Novosibirsk) was successfully carried out. Currently, there are 510 seats in the large hall of the "Red torch", and about 120 in the small transformer hall.
Currently, the theater is actively touring throughout Russia and abroad (Greece, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, France, Serbia, and other countries), taking part in Russian and international theater festivals. 7 performances of the theater were nominated for the national theater award "Golden Mask".
