Church for the sake of the Ascension
The wooden church, built in 1846, was the cross shaped in plan single-domed building in the style of classicism.
During its existence, Suzun church was rebuilt more than once. First, due to the dilapidation of the building, and then in connection with the increase in the number of parishioners. The parish of the church consisted of residents of the village of Suzun of Barnaulsky parish. According to the memories of old-timers, the church building was distinct for rich decoration. Information about the miraculous icons was not preserved. However, the temple Icon of the Ascension of Christ and the Icon of St. Blessed and Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky in the silver gilded robe, donated by the rector of the church, priest Vasilii Duplev, were considered particularly revered images. The Ascension church had its own parochial school, opened in 1895 and located in the house, which belonged to the church.
In 1937, the church was closed, and it was broken later. The parish was restored in 1990. A new church was built on the site of the old church in 1997-2002.
The church has the Sunday school for children and adults, the library of orthodox literature. In September 2004, the orthodox youth and children's choirs were formed to teach the fundamentals of musical literacy.
