Water tower in the worker's settlement of Chany

With the beginning of the construction of the railroad there was a need for water supply, as a result of which approximately in 1935 the water tower was built, simultaneously with the railway station. The main purpose of the structure was filling water locomotives. Water was pumped into the tower from the local lake. The special worker monitored the water level.

How to get there: the distance from the city of Novosibirsk to the settlement of Chany is 420 km by car. One can get from the Novosibirsk bus station (4 Krasny avenue) to the w.s. of Chany by bus on the route "Novosibirsk-Ust-Tarka". One can get from the railway station "Novosibirsk-Main" (43 Dmitriya Shamshurina str. of the city of Novosibirsk) to the railway station "Chany" by train on the routes "Novosibirsk-Omsk", "Novosibirsk-Kulunda".
