Michael-Archangelical Monastery
There was the wooden Parish Church in the name of Archangel Michael, built in 1903 and consecrated in 1906 by St. Macarius (Nevsky), Archbishop of Tomsk and Barnaul, there in the village of Kozikha of the Ordynsky district of the Novosibirsk region, on the site where the temple and the fraternal building are now located, before the revolution.
In 1997, the monastic community began construction of temple and the two-storeyed fraternal building on the site of the former destroyed church of the village of Kozikha. Funds were very small, and the walls were insulated with adobe, which they themselves made of clay and straw. They lived in the small house that used to be a stokehold.
The monastery is proud of its shrines such as:
• Renewed Icon of the Mother of God "Iberian".
Since January 1999, every day in the monastery begins with the prayer service in front of the Icon. On April 13, 2004, with the blessing of Archbishop Tikhon, the Iberian Icon was brought to the newly built Trinity-Vladimir Cathedral, i.e. Novosibirsk Courtyard of the Mikhailo-Arkhangelsk monastery. Since this time there was a tradition to bring the revered image to the monastery courtyard on Monday of the Week of Renewing for evening church service, behind which the akathist to the Most Holy Mother of God is sung. The next day after the procession, the shrine is taken back to the monastery.
• Two arks with particles of holy relics of many saints, as well as the Icons of St. Sergius of Radonezh and Blessed Matron of Moscow with particles of their relics.
The day in the monastery begins with a prayer to the Most Holy Mother of God in front of Her "Iberian" Icon, then in the temple morning prayers, midnight prayer, three canons with an akathist, the Chapter of the Book of the Gospels and two chapters from the Apostle are read. After that, the 3rd and 6th hours are read and the Divine Liturgy is served.
The day ends with an evening church service and prayers for bedtime. The brethren of the monastery try to confess every day, take communion every 2-3 weeks. In the evenings, several times a week, there are joint readings of "Philokalia" and other patristic books about monastic life.
There is no special hotel for pilgrims, so those wishing to come to pray and work in the monastery, need to call in advance and get a blessing to visit the monastery.
