Church in honor of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul
The Church in honor of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is located on the island connected to the shore with the earth-fill barrage. The first wooden church, built for the money of local merchants, was consecrated in 1756. Many icons and shrines were kept here. In the 30-ies of XX century. there was a fire, and the church burned down.
In 1998, local residents decided to restore the church. Currently, there is a brick building decorated with icons of local painting on the site of the former church.
The Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is unique in that its walls are painted with colored clay, coming to the surface a few hundred meters from the village of Chingis, on the banks of the Maly Chingis river. In 2010, the bell loft was donated for the church.
