The exhibition hall (formerly the art gallery) is located in the transition between the two main buildings of the House of Scientists of the Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. The area of the hall is more than 250 sq.m.
The art gallery was opened in 1966 under the direction of Mikhail Ianovich Makarenko-Hershkovich. It was opened with an exhibition by Nikolai Gritsiuk. Over the years of work here, there have been exhibitions that have made the gallery famous throughout the whole country. They include the following exhibitions: Pavel Filonov, Robert Falk, Mikhail Shemiakin. Negotiations about the exhibition were held with Marc Chagall.
Many well-known names of Siberian art made their debut in the Exhibition hall of the House of Scientists. Over the years of operation of the Exhibition Hall, the large and interesting collection of paintings and graphic sheets of Siberian artists was collected from the gifted works from the exhibitions. Many of them decorate the living rooms, halls, and offices of the House of Scientists, others are shown at thematic and anniversary exhibitions.

How to get there: there are electric trains on the routes "Novosibirsk-Glavny-Cherepanovo", "Novosibirsk-Glavny-Iskitim", "Novosibirsk-Glavniy-Dorogino", "Novosibirsk-Glavniy –Berdsk" to Akademgorodok (the railway station "Obskoye More"). Then, from the railway station "Obskoye More" to the House of Scientists you can go on foot (2.3 km). There are a route taxi № 35 (1235) and a bus № 8 from the River Station bus stop to the House of Scientists of the Siberian Branch of RAS (the Russian Academy of Sciences).
