«Первый театр»

December 15, 2008 is the date of birth of the "First theater". It is the day when the artists took to the stage with their first performance, i.e. "The Cripple of Inishmaan". The troupe of the theater included graduates of the Novosibirsk State Theater Institute of 2008 year, later graduates of 2012 joined them. The full-fledged team was created out of young artists and beginners for several years.

Open to the audience and new ideas, "First theater" has been staging performances for more than 7 years, providing an opportunity for young artists to reveal and develop. The theater educates talents, tours, participates in festivals and competitions, involves residents of the region and the country into the theatrical life of the Novosibirsk residents.

The project "Kitchen", the laboratory of modern drama under the direction of St. Petersburg Director Dmitrii Egorov, was launched in October 2011 upon the initiative of the theater. The project was attended by the students of the Novosibirsk State Theater Institute, Lavrentii Sorokin, actor of the Theater "Globus", and Semen Letiaev, artist of the Novosibirsk City Drama Theater under the direction of Sergei Afanasev. Three contemporary plays were chosen for work at the laboratory: "The Beautiful Afar" by Danila Privalov, "The Killer" by Aleksandr Molchanov and "July" by Ivan Vyrypaev. The laboratory held readings of plays and screening of sketches of performances. Two of the selected plays ("The Beautiful Afar" and "The Killer") were staged here.

"First theater" is the studio theater, which means experiment. It is constantly looking for new things in art.
