The prosperous health resort is located among the fascinating view of the expanses of the Barabinsk forest steppe directly in the center between the two lakes: the salty lake Karachi and the freshwater lake Uzunkul and nowadays it is one of the largest year-round health resorts in Siberia. The territory of the forest park zone is 43 ha, there is a bioclimatical passport of the medical-and-recreational area, confirming the high landscape-and-climatic resort potential.
The resort is famous, first of all, for its healing natural factors. The main wealth of the health resort is the unique bitter-salt lake Karachi with an area of 362 hectares. The lake is filled with rapeseed, which contains various salts in the amount of up to 300 grams per liter, there are large reserves of silt-sulfide mud at the bottom of the reservoir, which has an extremely high therapeutic effect, at a depth of 1,170 m mineral water "Karachinskaya" was found . The peculiarity of the mineral water of the Karachi spring is that it is an analogue of the mineral water "Essentuki" No. 4 and "Arzni". Currently, the largest natural formations of the lake Karachi in the Trans-Urals are listed in the Cadastre of Therapeutic Muds of Russia.
The resort "Lake Karachi" is the sole owner of the license to extract and use these unique gifts of nature. The therapeutic mud and brine are used once, without undergoing regeneration, there in the sanatorium. The combination of favorable environmental conditions and healing properties of the local nature gives a tangible effect of healing and treatment. The health resort can simultaneously accommodate up to 600 people. The sanatorium consists of 4 residential buildings. They are connected by a warm passage with a mud bath, canteen, and concert hall.

- The category "Comfort" (with an area from 15 to 17 sq.m.). There are the following items in the room: three-quarter-sized bed, bedside table, desk, 2 chairs, kettle, wardrobe, TV, refrigerator, sanitary conveniences with shower, hairdryer;
- The "Luxe" category (with an area from 35 to 42 sq.m.). Suitable for couples and families with two children. There are the following items in the room: 2 double bed, bedside tables, chair, sofa, desk, wardrobe, sanitary conveniences with shower, 2 TV, satellite TV, kettle, refrigerator, hairdryer.
All rooms have wired Internet. The resort has a Wi-Fi zone. These services are provided to guests of the sanatorium free of charge.
Food in the health resort is dietary, healthy and balanced. The sanatorium provides four meals a day, which is included into the voucher price.
For recreation and leisure the visitors are offered billiard and tennis halls, cafe, phyto-bar, concert hall, library with a fund of about 15,000 books. In the evenings there are entertainment programs with music and dance numbers, entertainment competitions and games, artists come from the city of Novosibirsk: The Opera and Ballet Theater (NOVAT), State Philharmonic, Theater for Musical Comedy. For lovers of family rest with children there is children's playground, gym, summer houses.

One of the important facts in the development of the resort is scientific and research activities. Scientists of Tomsk Scientific-and-Research Institute for Balneology and Physiotherapy have been conducting scientific work in the sanatorium for many years to further study the properties of natural healing factors and create original therapeutic techniques based on them. Long-term cooperation with the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Medical Sciences, departments of the Novosibirsk State Medical University continues.

How to get there: the distance from the worker's settlement of Chany (administrative center of the Chanovsky district) to the sanatorium "Lake Karachi" is 17 km by car, the distance from the city of Novosibirsk to the sanatorium "Lake Karachi" is 420 km by car. From the city of Novosibirsk it is necessary to go along the highway M 51 "Baykal", turn at 1,129-th kilometer, a pointer to the w.s. of Chany, then a pointer to the w.s. of Lake Karachi, and follow the signs "Resort "Lake Karachi". The free of charge guarded motor car parking for guests of the health resort is located in the territory of sanatorium.
Another option: One can get from the railway station "Novosibirsk-Main" (43 Dmitriya Shamshurina str. of the city of Novosibirsk) to the railway station "Lake Karachi" by train on the routes "Novosibirsk-Omsk", "Novosibirsk-Kulunda".
