Cathedral Mosque named after Sheikh Kunt-Haji Kishiev in the Mira street
On June 19, 2014, the Cathedral mosque named after the Sufi Sheikh of the second half of the XIX century was opened in the city of Novosibirsk in Mira street (in the Kirovsky district). It is the cathedral mosque in the name of Kunta-Haji Kishiev. The decision to assign the name of Kunta-Haji Kishiev to the mosque under construction was made at the meeting of the Muslim community of the city of Novosibirsk.
The spiritual Muslim complex will be built in the territory of the mosque, which in addition to the mosque building, includes madrassah, mercy center for 15 seats, hotel, housing for priests, offices for cultural centers, ceremonial premises, canteen, shopping pavilion and other facilities designed to ensure the life of the community. The total area of the mosque is 1,800 sq.m.
Construction of the five-storeyed madrassah building was started next to the Cathedral mosque in 2014. According to the plan of the Muslims, it should become a forge of theological personnel for the entire region.
