Barsukovskaya cave

Barsukovskaya cave is located near the village Barsukovo on the right coast of the Ukrop River. In 2000 the Barsukovskaya cave was announced as monument of nature of regional importance (area - 37 hectares).

Barsukovskaya cave is a large cave, where bats spend winter. Five species of bats, most of which are listed in the Red Book, begin to fly into the cave for wintering in late August-September. In spring bats leave the cave.

The total length of the cave is 195 m, the depth is 19 m. The cave has grottos and labyrinths up to 200 meters long, but because of the rather narrow passageways it is difficult to get into them.

During the Civil War, the cave was used as shelter for red and white armies, and later it was a place for escaped deserters.

It is believed that the underground passageways of the Barsukovskaya cave descend below the level of the Ukrop river. The cave is often visited by tourists and speleologists.

Location: the Novosibirsk region, Maslyaninsky district, Barsukovo village, right side of the Ukrop river

How to get there: the distance between Maslyanino village to Barsukovskaya cave is 19 km by car, from Novosibirsk to Barsukovskaya cave – 140 km by car.

There is scheduled bus from Novosibirsk Bus Terminal to Maslyanino village, then you can take a taxi to get to the Barsukovskaya cave.
