State Archive of the Novosibirsk region

Currently, the State Archive of the Novosibirsk region is one of the largest repositories of archival information on the history of not only the Novosibirsk region but also the whole of Siberia.
 
Currently, the Fund of the State Archive of the Novosibirsk region contains more than 2.3 million units of storage, documents since 1726 are stored in the archive.
 
The State Archive of the Novosibirsk region possesses the following rare and unique documents:

- record of births of A.I. Pokryshkin, G.F. Baidukov; marriage record of F.M. Dostoevskii; the design of the chapel in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the city of Novonikolayevsk, the design of the People’s House in the city of Novonikolayevsk, Tomsk Province; autobiography of the honored worker of science and technology of the RSFSR, doctor of technical sciences A.D. Kriachkov, Secretary of the Siberian State Publisher L.N. Seifullina, K.K. Rokossovskii, V.D. Vegman; report of the Chairman of the Tobolsk Provincial Board M.N. Kurbanovskii addressed to the Governor-General of the Western Siberia on the departure of N.G. Chernyshevskii from Tobolsk prison to the city of Irkutsk; decree on the execution of Admiral A.V. Kolchak, documents on the beginning of the labor biography of A.N. Kosygin in the State Archive of the Novosibirsk region, etc.);
- collection of photographic documents for 1864-2014 yrs.;
- collection of cartographic documents of the Siberian and West-Siberian regions, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Irkutsk regions, Krasnoyarsk territory, etc. for 1838-1970 yrs.;
- collection of metrical books of religious institutions of Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Tomsk regions, Altai krai for 1754, 1780-1934 yrs. and much more.

Main activities of the institution activities are as follows: acquisition of Archival Fund with documents of organizations and private individuals; state storage and accounting of documents; implementation of social-and-legal and thematic requests; examination of value of documents; identification of particularly valuable and unique documents; consulting-and-methodological assistance in the field of archival affairs.

The State Archive of the Novosibirsk region conducts excursions and meetings for various groups of visitors, invites guests to visit the exhibition hall and get acquainted with documents on the history of Siberia. Exhibitions are updated once per 3 months, attendance is free of charge, only by reservation.

The history of the archive includes exhibitions of documents at city and district sites: at the residence of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District, the Main Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the Novosibirsk region, the Government of the Novosibirsk region, the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
