CENTER OF OCEANOGRAPHY AND MARINE BIOLOGY “DELFINIYA”
The Center of Oceanography and Marine Biology “Delfiniya” is a unique object for Siberia: the first behind the Urals, far from the seas and oceans, a large-scale project of a high-tech all-the-year-round stationary oceanographic complex.
The area of the halls of the complex is more than 8,000 square meters, the volume of water in swimming pools and aquariums is approaching to 2.7 million liters. “Delfiniya” can simultaneously accommodate up to 650 spectators. One of the main features of the complex is the construction of a unique cupola, which allows creating a natural light effect for the inhabitants of the center.
Guests are welcome to see the Pacific dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, white polar whales, beluga whales, South American sea lions and the Pacific walrus.
At the same time with the performances of dolphins and marine animals, the oceanarium with a tunnel runs through the aquarium is open. The exposition involves 28 marine aquariums. More than 300 species of fish and marine animals: moray eels, rays, sharks and other inhabitants of the seas and oceans.
In the center of oceanography and marine biology the specialized programs are being conducted: marine biology lessons, scientific programs for expanding the horizons of children and cognitive excursions.
